Ok folks, the mystery's over. Wikipedia says Hindi and Ursu are spoken in Cantral and Nothern India. Now that only leaves the fact that Celestina doesnt have much of a command of English like other Indians. THis further identifies her as being in a very isolated rural portion of this area of India, where English would not have been as prominent as in the bigger cities. That would explain Celestina's shyness, very pretecdive mother , close family ties and her family's deep suspicion of outsiders.

So Celestina, you are country, as we calll it over here. Does your family herd?

Woohoo! Hockey! I love to watch! Volleyball was my favorite sport in school. I dare you to return my serves. evilgrin

There's always an earthquake when Steve writes. A lot of misspellings. First, I thought maybe he's drunk. But all his posts are the same. Can you be drunk 24/7? rofl

So, if Steve is right with his investigation that means there are only Native Americans & Mexicans in the US? No country has mixed ethnicities? I wouldn't be here? Crying or Very sad

thank you for understanding tom or ramruva. meri madri zaban urdu he my native tongue is urdu i talk in english more often these times it seems harder to change gears when talking to english and then talking urdu. that you can think of as hindi. Oh, how nice. Another language Very Happy . Thank you for this gift hug. So, let's see: this is urdu, which i don't know. But judging from the short phrase meri madri zaban urdu he and the immediate translation my native tongue is urdu it looks like
meri means my,
madri means mother(it looks like the Spanish, madre),
zaban then would be language
and obviously urdu is urdu.

I would then interpret he as is. Either that or he is a vocalized period.
With mera naam celeste he i would then say:

mera means my.
mera and meri must be two different cases, like masculine and feminine. Perhaps one case is neutral. Urdu must be an indo-european language.

naam is name

celeste is Celeste

and he is is.

Now, i don't know what samajne ke liye shukria means. However shukria looks like the Arabic shukra, which means thank you.

I did not look this information up on the Internet.

Let me see if i can find samajne on the Internet, however.

<doing research>

Ok. while i found samajne, there was not translation. I found samaj with the meaning of society. I also found several instances of ke liye but no translation. The Urdu to English online dictionaries don't seem to work. Sad Somehow i ended up on omniglot.com Confused dunno, which has many interesting categories of writing systems read.

nice work. the online translators usually aren't very good anyway. i've not seen one from urdu

Hmm, maybe you meant street field hockey , not roller street ice hockey. You Indians are big on hockey. My mother was an All American Field Hockey player. You ever play field hockey, Celesitne. Can you manipulate the big stick?
